Most mornings, you just want to pick up your bag and go. Sort out the lights, tires and tools at home so they’re ready when you are.
Find a shop that will work on the model, ask about parts and check certification for both the ride and its battery. The brakes and load limit need to suit you, your bags and the roads you’ll use.
The battery buying check ↗Wear a properly fitted helmet every ride. Choose any extra protection for the ride you’re learning. Practice stopping and getting off somewhere quiet before trying a busy route.
CPSC safety guidance ↗Check the pressure and look over the tread, sidewalls, valve and the bead where the tire meets the rim. Find out whether your tires use tubes or factory sealant, or whether the wheels are solid. A tire that keeps losing air needs attention.
What to do about a flat ↗A small pump and gauge are worth carrying if your tires hold air. Pack the lock, check the lights and bring repair tools you know how to use. Know who you could call for a lift if you get stuck.
Set up the first week ↗TIRE CARE
A small hole in a tire shouldn’t be the reason you miss work. We recommend Armor-Dilloz to help seal tread punctures in air-filled tires. Choose the formula for your tires, keep them at the right pressure and carry a pump.

Liquid sealant is for tires that hold air. Solid, foam-filled and airless wheels don’t use it. Find out what’s already in the tire before adding more; a tire with sealant or factory gel inside doesn’t need the same treatment as an empty one. Check the instructions for the tire, valve and any sensors. Stop riding if you find a torn sidewall, damage around the bead or exposed casing, or if the tire keeps losing air or starts vibrating. Those problems need a repair or a new tire.
